SILVER MUSE is an ultra-luxury cruise ship operated by Silversea Cruises. Delivered in April 2017 by Fincantieri at Sestri Ponente, Genoa, the vessel was developed as an evolution of Silver Spirit and became one of the key ships in the modernisation of the Silversea fleet. She combines relatively modest dimensions by contemporary cruise-ship standards with an all-suite product and a very high crew-to-passenger ratio.
The ship measures 212.8 metres in length and 27 metres in moulded beam, with a design draught of 6.55 metres. Fincantieri lists a gross tonnage of about 40,700 GT, a service speed of 17 knots and a maximum speed of approximately 21 knots. Propulsion is provided by two 8,500 kW propulsion motors, while electrical power is generated by four Wärtsilä 9L38 diesel generator sets.
SILVER MUSE was originally designed to accommodate 596 guests in 298 passenger suites, with 100% outside accommodation and 97% of suites featuring balconies. At delivery, Silversea promoted her as having more dining venues and more large suites than any previous ship in the fleet.

Construction and Design
SILVER MUSE was launched at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente yard on 1 July 2016 and officially delivered to Silversea on 3 April 2017. The ship represented a development of the earlier Silver Spirit concept, retaining Silversea’s small-ship approach while increasing the number of restaurants, connecting suites and premium accommodation options.
The vessel was also delivered with environmental and comfort notations including Green Star 3 Design, aimed at reducing air and water pollution, together with RINA noise-comfort classifications for passengers and crew.
SILVER MUSE and Piraeus
SILVER MUSE has a particularly strong relationship with Piraeus, having used the port repeatedly as both a call and turnaround port on Eastern Mediterranean itineraries. In spring 2026, Silversea scheduled consecutive round-trip cruises from Athens/Piraeus, including voyages beginning on 25 March, 4 April and 11 April 2026, linking Piraeus with destinations including Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, Kusadasi, Nafplion, Volos and Istanbul.
The vessel is scheduled to return to Piraeus later in 2026 as well, with further cruises departing from Athens in November. This repeated use of the port makes SILVER MUSE much more than an occasional visitor to the Piraeus cruise terminal.

SILVER MUSE has been recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips during her Mediterranean operations with Silversea Cruises. As one of the vessels that helped define the modern generation of the Silversea fleet, and with repeated turnaround calls at Piraeus, she represents an important part of the luxury cruise traffic documented in the PiraeuShips visual archive.
