Diamantis P - IMO 9146314 (now Shenton Way)

DIAMANTIS P was a Greek-controlled 2,008-TEU feeder containership built in Poland in 1998, which spent almost fifteen years under the management of the Pittas family's Eurobulk Ltd. before being sold in January 2025.

Built by Stocznia Gdynia at Gdynia, Poland, the vessel had already traded under several well-known liner identities before becoming DIAMANTIS P in 2010. During her Greek-controlled career she was operated by Eurobulk and later owned within the Euroseas / Euroholdings group.

After being sold for approximately USD 13.15 million in January 2025, the vessel was briefly renamed SCOOBY 1 and subsequently became SHENTON WAY under the Panama flag. Remarkably, she remains commercially active in 2026, almost 28 years after delivery.

Built in Poland

The vessel was constructed by Stocznia Gdynia, one of Poland's major shipbuilding yards, as hull number 8145/2.

Her keel was laid on 22 April 1998, she was launched on 14 August 1998, and delivery followed on 20 October 1998.

At approximately 188 metres long and 30 metres wide, the ship was designed as a medium-sized cellular containership suitable for regional and intercontinental liner services.

Her propulsion was provided by a Polish-built Cegielski-Sulzer 6RTA72U low-speed diesel engine, producing approximately 17,940 kW, driving a single propeller.

A 950-kW bow thruster improved manoeuvrability during port operations.

From ARKONA TRADER to CMA CGM TUCANO

The ship's early career involved several changes of chartering identity.

Her name history can be reconstructed as:

ARKONA TRADER → CIELO D'ITALIA → ARKONA TRADER → CMA CGM TUCANO → ARKONA TRADER → DIAMANTIS P → SCOOBY 1 → SHENTON WAY

The vessel was initially associated with the name ARKONA TRADER in 1998 but soon became CIELO D'ITALIA, a name she retained until early 2002.

She then reverted to ARKONA TRADER before becoming:

CMA CGM TUCANO

in 2003.

Under that name she spent approximately five years within services associated with French container-shipping group CMA CGM.

In 2008, she reverted once again to ARKONA TRADER.

Becoming DIAMANTIS P

The vessel's long Greek-controlled chapter began in 2010.

ARKONA TRADER was acquired by interests associated with the Pittas family and renamed:

DIAMANTIS P

Management was undertaken by Eurobulk Ltd., the Athens-based ship-management company associated with the Pittas shipping group.

Eurobulk's own fleet history records DIAMANTIS P as entering its fleet in 2010 and remaining under its management until 2025.

During this period she initially sailed under the Liberia flag, with:

Port of Registry: Monrovia

Call Sign: A8WA2

MMSI: 636014699

The vessel retained her 2,008-TEU configuration and became one of the older feeder containerships in the Eurobulk-managed fleet.

Eurobulk and Euroseas

For much of her DIAMANTIS P career, the vessel was owned through Diamantis Shipping Limited and managed by Eurobulk Ltd.

In 2019, her corporate ownership structure changed.

Euroseas announced the acquisition of four containerships from companies controlled by affiliates of the Pittas family. The vessels included:

EM HYDRA

EM SPETSES

EM KEA

and

DIAMANTIS P

Euroseas formally took delivery of DIAMANTIS P on 2 August 2019.

The transaction brought a vessel already familiar to the Pittas group's management operation directly into the publicly listed Euroseas fleet.

A 2,008-TEU Feeder

DIAMANTIS P was officially marketed by Euroseas as a:

2,008-TEU feeder containership

Her container distribution consisted of approximately:

836 TEU below deck

and

1,172 TEU on deck

for a total nominal capacity of:

2,008 TEU

She was also equipped with approximately 250 reefer connections.

Although some historical ship databases quote a slightly higher theoretical figure of around 2,064 TEU, Eurobulk and Euroseas consistently used 2,008 TEU as the vessel's commercial capacity, making this the most appropriate figure for her DIAMANTIS P period.

An Unusually Valuable Veteran

By the early 2020s, DIAMANTIS P had become one of the oldest ships in the Euroseas fleet.

Nevertheless, the strong containership market meant that the vessel continued to retain significant commercial value despite her age.

Rather than operating her through her next scheduled drydocking in October 2026, Euroseas decided to sell the vessel.

On 16 January 2025, Euroseas announced that DIAMANTIS P had been sold for approximately:

USD 13.15 million

The vessel had already been physically delivered to her new owners on:

15 January 2025

According to Euroseas, the sale was expected to generate a gain of approximately USD 10.2 million.

For a containership already more than 26 years old, the sale price illustrates the considerable residual value that older feeder tonnage could still command during this period.

DIAMANTIS P → SCOOBY 1

Following the January 2025 sale, the vessel's fifteen-year career under the name DIAMANTIS P came to an end.

She was transferred to the Panama flag and renamed:

SCOOBY 1

The name appears to have been very short-lived.

Ship-registration records show SCOOBY 1 appearing in January 2025, shortly after the vessel's delivery by Euroseas.

Renamed SHENTON WAY

Later in 2025, SCOOBY 1 was renamed again:

SHENTON WAY

The vessel retained IMO number 9146314, allowing the entire history to be followed despite the rapid succession of names.

Current records identify her as:

Name: SHENTON WAY

Flag: Panama

MMSI: 352005129

Call Sign: 3E8302

Registered Owner: Scooby Shipping Inc.

Ship / ISM Manager: Sea Lead Ship Management Pte Ltd.

Commercial Manager: Sea Lead Shipping Pte Ltd.

The final documented identity sequence is therefore:

ARKONA TRADER → CIELO D'ITALIA → ARKONA TRADER → CMA CGM TUCANO → ARKONA TRADER → DIAMANTIS P → SCOOBY 1 → SHENTON WAY

Still Active in 2026

The former DIAMANTIS P did not go for demolition following her sale.

As SHENTON WAY, the vessel remains commercially active in 2026, despite approaching her 28th anniversary.

AIS and commercial tracking information from September 2026 continued to identify SHENTON WAY under the Panama flag, operating in Asian waters.

Recent records place the vessel in the East China Sea, following trading involving ports in China and the Indian subcontinent.

Thus, a ship that Euroseas sold partly because she was approaching her October 2026 drydocking continues to trade under new ownership.

Piraeus Connection

DIAMANTIS P had a strong connection with the Greek shipping community through Eurobulk and the Pittas family, while she also has a directly documented physical connection with Piraeus.

The vessel was photographed at the Piraeus anchorage on 11 March 2018, sailing under the Liberia flag as DIAMANTIS P and managed by Eurobulk.

PiraeuShips published its dedicated DIAMANTIS P entry in April 2018, documenting the vessel during this period of her Greek-controlled career.

At the time, the ship was approximately twenty years old and still several years away from the eventual sale that would end her DIAMANTIS P identity.

The PiraeuShips footage has subsequently gained additional historical value because the vessel has since changed both ownership, flag and name twice.

PiraeuShips Record

DIAMANTIS P was recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips in 2018 during the vessel's long Greek-controlled career with Eurobulk. Built by Stocznia Gdynia in Poland in 1998, the 2,008-TEU containership had previously traded as ARKONA TRADER, CIELO D'ITALIA and CMA CGM TUCANO before becoming DIAMANTIS P in 2010. She subsequently entered the Euroseas fleet in 2019 and remained under Pittas-group control until January 2025, when she was sold for approximately USD 13.15 million. Briefly renamed SCOOBY 1 after the sale, she later became SHENTON WAY under the Panama flag. Still commercially active in 2026, almost 28 years after construction, the former DIAMANTIS P continues to trade in Asia, making the PiraeuShips footage a record of a now-completed fifteen-year Greek chapter in the vessel's career.
