OKEE Alicia - IMO 9334818 (now UAFL Racer)

OKEE ALICIA was the name carried between 2019 and 2025 by a Chinese-built 1,740-TEU geared containership originally delivered as HANSA MARBURG in 2007.

Built at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard, the vessel spent the first twelve years of her career under the Hansa Marburg identity before being sold to OKEE Maritime and renamed OKEE ALICIA.

Following another sale to United Africa Feeder Line – UAFL interests, she was subsequently renamed:

UAFL RACER.

IMO 9334818 remains fully active in 2026 under the Liberian flag, including regular Mediterranean services and continued calls at Piraeus.

Built as HANSA MARBURG

The vessel was completed at:

Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard

in China in 2007.

Her original name was:

HANSA MARBURG.

She belonged to the yard's successful approximately 1,700-TEU geared containership design.

The vessel's two onboard:

40-tonne cranes

allowed her to handle containers at ports without large shore-based container cranes.

1,740 TEU

The ship's nominal container capacity is approximately:

1,740 TEU.

Around:

300 reefer plugs

provide substantial refrigerated-container capability.

Combined with onboard cargo gear, this made the design particularly useful for:

regional liner trades

African services

and ports with limited container infrastructure.

MAN B&W Propulsion

Propulsion is provided by a:

MAN B&W 7S60MC-C

main engine developing approximately:

16,660 kW.

Historical technical specifications quote a service speed close to:

19.5 knots.

As with most containerships of her generation, present-day commercial speeds are often considerably lower for fuel-efficiency reasons.

HANSA MARBURG → OKEE ALICIA

In 2019, HANSA MARBURG was sold to:

OKEE Maritime interests in Germany.

She was renamed:

OKEE ALICIA.

The vessel retained the Liberian flag and Monrovia registry.

PiraeuShips in 2020

PiraeuShips documented OKEE ALICIA during the beginning of this new ownership period.

The dedicated:

OKEE ALICIA – IMO 9334818

entry was published in:

June 2020.

At the time, the ship was recorded with:

18,327 GT

23,420 DWT

175 m length

and:

16,600 kW MAN B&W machinery.

OKEE Maritime Period

OKEE ALICIA remained associated with German OKEE interests for several years.

She continued trading internationally as a geared regional containership, including regular calls across Mediterranean and European ports.

Sold to UAFL

During 2024, the vessel was sold to interests associated with:

UAFL – United Africa Feeder Line.

The new registered ownership became:

UAFL RACER GmbH & Co. KG.

The ship initially continued appearing under the OKEE ALICIA identity while the ownership transfer was completed.

Renamed UAFL RACER

By 2025, IMO 9334818 had been renamed:

UAFL RACER.

The complete current identity history is therefore:

HANSA MARBURG → OKEE ALICIA → UAFL RACER.

She retained:

Liberian flag

MMSI 636092914

and

Call Sign D5UH6.

Mediterranean Trading

UAFL RACER remains heavily employed in regional liner services.

Recent operations have included ports such as:

Damietta

Piraeus

Koper

Venice

Ravenna

and other Mediterranean destinations.

Her onboard cranes and moderate container capacity remain useful for this type of regional service.

Back at Piraeus in 2026

The vessel continues to have a direct Piraeus connection even after the OKEE ALICIA name disappeared.

AIS records show UAFL RACER calling at Piraeus repeatedly during 2026, including September voyages linking the port with the Adriatic.

Thus PiraeuShips' 2020 footage can now be compared with the same hull returning under an entirely different commercial identity.

Still Active in 2026

UAFL RACER remains fully active in 2026, nineteen years after construction.

Current P&I and certification records continue to identify the vessel under her current UAFL name, with certificates valid into 2027.

She therefore appears likely to remain in commercial service for the foreseeable future.

PiraeuShips Record

OKEE ALICIA was recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips in 2020 during the vessel's second major commercial identity. Built at Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard in China in 2007 as HANSA MARBURG, the 1,740-TEU geared containership was sold to OKEE Maritime interests in 2019 and renamed OKEE ALICIA. Following another ownership change to United Africa Feeder Line interests, IMO 9334818 subsequently became UAFL RACER. Still fully active under the Liberian flag in 2026 and continuing to call at Piraeus, the vessel demonstrates the evolving ownership and charter history typical of medium-sized feeder containerships, while the PiraeuShips footage preserves the now-completed OKEE ALICIA chapter.
