Ecodiamond - IMO 9127382

ECODIAMOND is a Greek-flagged bunkering / oil-products tanker based in Piraeus and employed in the local marine-fuel supply trade. Built in Spain in 1996, the vessel spent most of her earlier career in Spanish ports before transferring to Greek ownership in 2023. Since becoming ECODIAMOND, she has developed a particularly strong connection with Piraeus and Drapetsona, where she is regularly recorded operating within the port and anchorage areas.

The tanker measures 72.10 metres in length and 16.02 metres in beam, with a deadweight of approximately 4,000 tonnes. She was constructed by Unión Naval de Valencia in Spain and is classed by Bureau Veritas. Current records identify Eco V Maritime Co. of Piraeus as owner and Aegean Shipping Enterprises M.C. as manager.

ECODIAMOND remains active in 2026. AIS records show repeated short movements within the Piraeus area, characteristic of a bunkering tanker supplying fuel to ships rather than undertaking long international voyages. In late August 2026, for example, she completed a Piraeus-to-Piraeus movement of roughly nine hours before returning to the port.

History

The vessel was delivered in 1996 as V.B. VERONICA. In February 2009 she became SPABUNKER CUARENTAYUNO and subsequently operated for many years as a bunker tanker in Spain, particularly around Barcelona. Contemporary photographs from 2012 show her actively refuelling ships in the Port of Barcelona while under Boluda interests.

A major change came in July 2023, when the tanker transferred to the Greek flag and was renamed ECODIAMOND. Her MMSI consequently changed from the former Spanish identification to the present Greek 240490800, while Piraeus became her home port. Photographic records place the newly renamed vessel in Piraeus as early as July 2023 and at Drapetsona later that year.

Piraeus Connection

Unlike many vessels in the archive that visit Piraeus occasionally, ECODIAMOND is now effectively part of the everyday working fleet of the port. Her Greek ownership and management are based in Piraeus, and she operates repeatedly around Piraeus and Drapetsona in the bunkering trade. AIS data in 2026 continues to show Piraeus as both her departure and destination on local operations.

PiraeuShips Record

ECODIAMOND was recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips after entering Greek service under her present name. Her transformation from the Spanish bunker tanker SPABUNKER CUARENTAYUNO into a Greek-flagged Piraeus-based vessel gives the recording additional historical interest and makes her a representative member of the harbour tanker fleet supporting shipping activity around Piraeus.
