SC II is a veteran Panama-flagged cement carrier built in Spain in 1980. The vessel began her career as INDALO, spent more than three decades under that name, became SIRIOS CEMENT II in 2012 under Greek ownership and management, and was renamed SC II in December 2017. More than 46 years after construction, she remains active in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The vessel was constructed by Astilleros del Cantábrico y de Riera at Gijón, Spain, as yard number R.139. She measures 106.33 metres in length and approximately 15.9 metres in beam, with a gross tonnage of 3,375 GT and deadweight of 5,946 tonnes. Her original machinery consists of a Deutz RBV12M350 main engine, with historical sources quoting a service speed of around 15.5 knots.

From INDALO to SIRIOS CEMENT II
The ship was delivered in 1980 as INDALO under the Spanish flag and kept that identity for more than 30 years.
In April 2012, the vessel was renamed SIRIOS CEMENT II and transferred to the Greek flag. During that period she was associated with Sirios Shipmanagement of Chalkis, carried MMSI 241191000 and call sign SVBN5, and became a familiar participant in Mediterranean bulk-cement trades.

Renamed SC II
In December 2017, SIRIOS CEMENT II was shortened to SC II / SCII. The vessel subsequently transferred to the Panama flag in January 2018.

Despite having been built in 1980, SC II remains commercially active.
AIS records from September 2026 place her in the Eastern Mediterranean, at anchor after recent trading involving Haifa, El Arish, Ashdod, Abu Qir and Ceyhan.
The vessel therefore remains an unusual example of a conventional cement carrier still earning her living well into her fifth decade.
Piraeus Connection
SC II has a particularly strong documented connection with Piraeus from her Greek and post-Greek periods.
She was photographed at the Piraeus anchorage on 16 August 2020 and again on 13 March 2021.
Those appearances came after the vessel had already changed from SIRIOS CEMENT II to SC II, making the Piraeus recordings especially useful for preserving her later identity.
