FRES is a small oil-products and bunkering tanker built in China in 2009 and long associated with AVIN and the Piraeus bunkering market. For most of her career she operated under the Greek flag with Piraeus as home port, regularly working between Piraeus, Perama, Agioi Theodoroi and other Greek ports. The vessel was originally delivered under the Panama flag before entering Greek service.
The tanker measures 88.02 metres in length and about 14.2 metres in beam, with a gross tonnage of 2,240 GT and deadweight of 3,353 tonnes. She was constructed by Dong Ming Shipbuilding & Repairing at Fu’an, China, and classed by Bureau Veritas. Historical technical data identifies a Ningbo CSI Power & Machinery Group main engine developing about 1,274 hp, giving a service speed of roughly 11 knots.
A particularly interesting update occurred in 2026. Until late July, AIS databases were still showing FRES under the Greek flag with MMSI 241023000 and call sign SVBA6. By August, however, live AIS records had changed to Portuguese/Madeira flag, MMSI 255916562 and call sign CQ2871, while the vessel continued operating almost exclusively in Greek waters. Current ownership databases still list Fres Shipping Co. as registered owner and Avin Hellas Shipping Co. as both commercial and ISM manager, suggesting a recent registry change rather than a change of commercial employment.

History
FRES entered service in 2009 and was initially registered in Panama. By 2010 she had already transferred into Greek operation and subsequently became a familiar AVIN tanker in domestic bunker and oil-products trades. The vessel’s compact dimensions made her particularly suitable for short-haul movements and ship-supply work around major Greek ports.
Photographic records document FRES at Perama in 2013, departing Drapetsona in 2015 and at the Piraeus anchorage in 2016, confirming her long-standing connection with the wider Piraeus port complex.
Current 2026 Status
FRES remains active. Recent AIS data in August 2026 recorded repeated movements between Piraeus, Perama and Agioi Theodoroi, despite the apparent transfer to the Portuguese/Madeira registry. Current tracking data shows the new Portuguese MMSI and call sign, while commercial ownership and management remain linked to Fres Shipping and AVIN Hellas.
