CPTN KOSTAS is a Greek-flagged oil-products and bunkering tanker operated by Spirit Management Services, with a particularly strong connection to Piraeus. Built in China in 2010, the vessel joined Greek ownership at the end of 2016 and has since operated in fuel-supply and product-tanker trades in Greece and the wider Mediterranean. She is registered at Piraeus and remains active in 2026.
The tanker measures 102.7 metres in length and 17.8 metres in beam, with a gross tonnage of 4,568 GT and summer deadweight of 6,195 tonnes. She was constructed by Rongcheng Shenfei Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in China and is classed by Bureau Veritas. Current industry records identify Captain Kostas Navigation as registered owner and Spirit Management Services as both commercial and ISM manager.
One of the most interesting aspects of CPTN KOSTAS is her role in the Greek bunkering market. Spirit World states that it acquired the approximately 6,800-dwt chemical/product tanker in December 2016 and subsequently entered into a long-term charter arrangement with Coral S.A., a subsidiary of Motor Oil Hellas. Spirit World has also highlighted CPTN KOSTAS as the vessel on which it introduced one of the first mass-flow-meter installations for bunkering in Greece and possibly the Mediterranean, aimed at improving the accuracy and transparency of fuel deliveries.

History
The vessel began her career under the name CF WOLFSBURG, later becoming WOLFSBURG. She subsequently traded as BEECH 2 and then LIUBOV RYL before entering Greek ownership and receiving the name CPTN KOSTAS in early 2017.
Spirit Management Services states that the vessel was acquired in December 2016 as part of an investment programme in product and chemical tankers. Following her acquisition, CPTN KOSTAS entered a long-term commercial relationship with Coral and became closely associated with Greek bunker-supply operations.
The tanker has remained active well beyond the Piraeus area. In April 2025, she made what was reported as her maiden call at Malta and Palumbo Malta Shipyard, while AIS records in 2026 continue to show Mediterranean operations.
Piraeus Connection
CPTN KOSTAS has one of the strongest Piraeus links among the tankers in the PiraeuShips archive. She is Greek flagged, registered at Piraeus and managed by a Piraeus-based company, while photographic records document her repeatedly at Perama, Drapetsona, Keratsini and the main Port of Piraeus from 2017 onward.
The vessel was photographed at Perama shortly after entering Greek service in March 2017, at Drapetsona during the same year, at Keratsini in October 2017 and repeatedly at Piraeus in subsequent years. This makes CPTN KOSTAS a characteristic member of the working tanker and bunkering fleet associated with Greece’s largest maritime centre.
Operational Note
CPTN KOSTAS was detained at Sarroch, Italy, in January 2023 for five days following a Paris MoU inspection that recorded 14 deficiencies. The vessel was subsequently released after rectification and continues to trade actively.
