NAVIOS AZURE is a 4,250-TEU Panamax containership built in China in 2007 and currently owned within the Navios Maritime Partners fleet. The vessel originally entered service as MARTE RICKMERS before being employed almost immediately as CMA CGM AZURE, a name she carried for nearly ten years. In 2017 she passed to Navios interests and received her present name.
Built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group at Dalian, NAVIOS AZURE measures 260.05 metres in length and 32.30 metres in beam. She has a gross tonnage of 39,906 GT, deadweight of 50,629 tonnes and nominal capacity of 4,250 TEU, including approximately 400 reefer connections.

The keel of the vessel was laid on 30 September 2006, she was launched on 18 April 2007 and delivered on 11 July 2007. She was one of a series of Dalian C4250 Panamax containerships, a design built around the then-important 4,250-TEU size segment.
Her name history is slightly more complicated than the older databases suggest:
MARTE RICKMERS → CMA CGM AZURE → MARTE RICKMERS → NAVIOS AZURE
She briefly carried the MARTE RICKMERS name around delivery in July 2007 before entering charter service as CMA CGM AZURE. In May 2017 she reverted to MARTE RICKMERS, but only for a short period. By July 2017, following her acquisition by Navios interests, she had become NAVIOS AZURE.
The ownership change in 2017 was part of a much larger transaction following the difficulties of Rickmers Maritime Trust.
Navios disclosed that in July 2017 its container business took delivery of several ships from the former Rickmers portfolio, including the 2007-built, 4,250-TEU NAVIOS AZURE. The first group of five vessels acquired at that stage had an aggregate purchase price of US$29.5 million.
The vessel remains part of the Navios Maritime Partners fleet in 2026. Navios currently lists NAVIOS AZURE as a 2007-built 4,250-TEU containership, with her present charter extending to approximately March 2029.
NAVIOS AZURE remains actively employed in liner service. In September 2026 she is operating for CMA CGM on the SSLMED Black Sea – Marmara – Morocco service, connecting ports in the western Mediterranean, Morocco, Türkiye and the Black Sea region.
This is an interesting full-circle element in the vessel's history: almost twenty years after entering service as CMA CGM AZURE, the same ship is again operating in CMA CGM's network, although today she remains owned by Navios and carries the NAVIOS AZURE name.
NAVIOS AZURE has a particularly strong Piraeus connection because her Navios management is based in Piraeus. Navios Maritime Partners gives its principal executive offices at 85 Akti Miaouli, Piraeus, while vessel databases identify Navios Containers Management in Piraeus in connection with the ship.
The vessel has also continued to call physically at the port: inspection records include a Piraeus call on 7 July 2025.
Most importantly for the archive, NAVIOS AZURE was recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips in 2018, shortly after her acquisition and renaming by Navios. Your original page therefore captured the vessel at the beginning of her Greek-managed Navios period.
NAVIOS AZURE was recorded at Piraeus by PiraeuShips shortly after the vessel joined the Navios fleet and adopted her present name. Built at Dalian in 2007 and known for almost a decade as CMA CGM AZURE, the 4,250-TEU Panamax containership became NAVIOS AZURE in July 2017. Still active in 2026 and managed within the Piraeus-based Navios organisation, the vessel provides a direct link between international container liner services and the Greek-controlled merchant fleet.
